Hiking trails map
Here's a selection on my favourites hiking trails I have walked near Ronda:
Circular Ronda Gorges walk
I have designed this itinerary for you to enjoy the best views of the gorge and city walls in a half-day walk.
Tajo del Abanico walk
An easy walk into a different gorge reachable on foot from Ronda. The track goes half way on streets and the other half is a narrow path running along an impressive gorge and ending up in a cave.
Ronda to the Cueva del Gato and beyond
A very exposed but interesting trail that connects Ronda with the Guadiario river and the impressive Cueva del Gato cave, a popular spot for travellers.
Llanos de Rabel walk
This one-way route is perhaps the most silent, easy and overwhelming one in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. You'll need a permit to access.
Pinsapar de Grazalema
Thrilling views along this high mountain route crossing the biggest Spanish Fir forest on Earth. Permission is needed. Recommended in October, March, April and May.
Llanos del Endrinal walk
The most accesible route in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. It is a circular route starting right in Grazalema village. No special permit is requiered to do it.
Quejigales walk in Sierra de las Nieves
One of the most dramatic walks in terms of scenery and views. This circular walk goes into the several forests in the heart of the Sierra de las Nieves Nat. Park. It can be linked with an ascent to the Torrecilla peak, overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar and with views to the Moroccan Riff.
Valle del Genal walks
A series of walks among the white-washed villages of the Genal valley. Recommended in spring and specially in November, for walking among the orange chestnut's leaves.
Arroyo de La Ventilla
The Ventilla creek in Arriate has carved a very bosky gorge. Going there on a summer morning is one of the most rewarding walks in the area, particullary for botanists and bird watcher.
